Backstory

Some time in history, a little cat girl was born, given the name "Muffin" after the baked good—something small, soft, and round, just like her. Growing up, Muffin was always they shy, awkward child, perpetually overwhelmed by the world around her. She found it hard to interact with her peers at school, often retreating into her little bubble of solitude. While others thrived on socializing and exploring the world, Muffin was most at peace when curled up in her room, surrounded by plushies, blankets, and the soft glow of her computer screen. Deep down, Muffin always knew that she wasn't quite like everyone else. There was something peculiar about her—something that often made her feel out of place in the "real world."
Ever since a very young age, she was an avid internet user and stumbled across streaming while browsing one day. The idea of sharing her quiet world with others, from the comfort of her own room, seemed like the perfect escape. She could interact with people without leaving her space, and the anonymity of the internet gave her a sense of control that real-world social interactions never did. Soon enough, she started streaming herself gaming, chatting, and drawing, having a lot of fun in the process. Despite her awkwardness, her audience loved her for her genuine, unassuming nature. Her shy smile and soft voice became a comfort to those who watched her, creating a safe space for like-minded introverts and those looking for a peaceful retreat from their busy lives.
However there was one thing about Muffin that she's been trying to keep hidden: her ability to change forms by switching dimensions. It started small—an accidental shift where she was in the middle of a stream, her tail flicking in frustration, and suddenly, she was somewhere else. She slipped through a tear in the fabric of reality itself, finding herself in a dimly lit, otherworldly version of the bedroom she called home. Everything was the same, yet ever so slightly different—more distorted, a little off. Since then she discovered she could shift between dimensions with the flick of her mind, like stepping through a door that wasn't quite there.
At first, it terrified her. She didn't understand why or how it was happening. Her dimension-hopping would occur at random, causing her to lose track of time and place. But over time, Muffin learned to control it. The dimensions she travelled to were like parallel worlds, each one slightly altered, with different versions of herself, as well as the people she knows. She's been able to interact with some of the alternate versions of herself, however, the longer she stayed in these other dimensions, the more tired and disoriented she became, which is why she makes sure to return to her own dimension as soon as she can.
She rarely speaks about this ability to anyone, even her viewers. After all, who would believe her? They already know her as the shy, awkward, sleepy cat girl who streams from her cozy bedroom. But in the quiet moments between streams, Muffin finds herself wondering if there’s a deeper reason behind her strange power—if the ability to shift between dimensions is connected to something more than just random glitches in her existence.
